Already at the beginning of 2010, we came up with our slogan FOR YOUR HORSE'S WELL-BEING<\/strong>, when we started producing Criollo<\/em><\/strong>horse feeds and supplements and that slogan has been the foundation of our operations. We are a small family owned company in Lappeenranta, South-Carelia, and we have produced Criollo<\/strong><\/em>horse feeds and supplements since the beginning of 2010. Criollo<\/strong><\/em> is a registered trademark and our love of horses got us to develop products that fulfill the dietary needs of a horse efficiently and easily - that's how Criollo<\/strong><\/em>horse feeds and supplements came to be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Based on our more than 50 years of experience with horses, we have found that a simple feeding regimen is also cost-effective\u2014provided the products are of high quality and the horse isn't fed anything unnecessary from various jars and containers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Criollo<\/em><\/strong> feeds are made with premium ingredients that guarantee the quality of the products. Criollo<\/em><\/strong> feeds is designed for the demanding conditions of Finland for all kinds of horses and ponies and they have the best concentrations on the market \u2013 compare! <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The carefully designed oat-free Criollo Top<\/em><\/strong> supplementary feed<\/strong> in addition to oats and the POPULAR oat-free<\/strong> Criollo Full<\/b><\/em> complete feed<\/strong> contain ALL the minerals, trace elements, vitamins and amino acids a horse needs in the right proportion. The idea for the feeds started when there really wasn't any feed on the market in Finland that had EVERYTHING a horse needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this way, the products were imprinted with our own hand from the beginning. Even the horse whose image has been used since the beginning in Criollo<\/em><\/strong> pruducts is our own Maxi's Maybell (photograph: Tarja Ruotsalainen).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Where does \"Criollo<\/em><\/strong>\" come from? It is a South American, tenacious, small and intelligent horse breed - like our company, a small and tenacious family business. Also Criollo<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0is a a type of cocoa bean from which chocolate is made, which in turn takes everyone to the extremity of wonderful taste pleasures <\/strong>\u2013 like our Criollo<\/em> feeds take your horse!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eija has been involved with horses her entire life; her uncle owned a Finnhorse, and she first rode it at the age of three and drove a cart at just four. She spent time at stables from a young age, eventually taking up riding, and has spent over four decades active in the harness racing world\u2014particularly in mont\u00e9 (mounted trotting). Winning the Finnish mont\u00e9 championship in 1991 with Falcon Jet\u2014a horse she bred herself\u2014stands out as the most memorable achievement of her career, which spans approximately 400 races. She has since stepped back from competitive racing and training after her daughter, Mira, moved away from Lappeenranta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eija founded the Finnish Mont\u00e9 Jockeys Association in 1990 and served as the association's chairperson for several years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When they were younger, the children, Maxi and Mira, drove ponies for several years; Mira also competed in monte. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

While Max has become enthusiastic about serious horsepower (motorsport), Mira has continued her involvement in harness racing through mont\u00e9; she used to race primarily with her own horses and now competes as a catch rider.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
